Bike to School Day

2015 Bike (or Walk) to School Day

Please join us on Wednesday, May 6 for Bike to School Day!  Local police and fire officials will greet students on campus, where they will receive a healthy snack for participating.  Parents and younger siblings are encouraged to participate, too.  If you bike, remember to wear a helmet!
If you don’t have a bike, you can still participate by walking.

Herriman Elementary was fortunate to have participated in the Thanksgiving Point Tulips Journey North program this year.  Each student was able to plant and observe tulip gardens at our school.  These observations were uploaded online and tracked globally!  After the tulips are gone, the Hawk Leadership Team will be planting vegetables to donate to a local food bank.

Final Shoe Drive Total

We want to thank everyone in our Herriman Community for helping our students collect 2,716 pairs of shoes.  We also want to thank Miss Riverton, Amber Barron, for allowing us to collaborate with her and help the Miss Utah Organization and the Shoes for Africa project.  Students had fun bringing in pairs of shoes, lining them up along the hallways, and seeing the total number of pairs grow each day!

Shoe Drive Update

You may have noticed the many pairs and styles of shoes lining the walls in our school.  This is because we are helping out Miss Riverton, Amber Barron, collect used shoes to benefit young children and families in Africa.  She challenged our students to collect 1,000 pairs of shoes and we have already collected 1,700 pairs of shoes!!  The Hawk Leadership Team would love to double the challenged number and collect 2,000 pairs of shoes.

In order to accomplish this goal, we will be having a "BONUS" collection day:  Monday, March 16th.  Please ask your family, friends, and neighbors to donate one last pair and help Miss Riverton!
